The Open Table

What is The Open Table?

The Open Table is a ministry of Grace Point Community Church in Lewis Center, Ohio (in Delaware County).  Through the work of The Open Table, we hope to help fill one of the most basic needs of people in the Lewis Center area: reliable food for their family.  Through the generous help of individuals and corporations, The Open Table supplies basic non-perishable food items and toiletries to people in need.  No strings attached.

How can I help with The Open Table?

Here are the best ways you can help support The Open Table:

  • Monetary Donations: The Open Table is a member agency of the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, a local organization dedicated to feeding hungry people by collecting and distributing food and grocery products to places like The Open Table. Membership in this organization allows us to purchase food at a fraction of the cost of local grocery stores.  100% of all money received for The Open Table will be used to directly support the food pantry. This includes purchasing needed items from the Mid-Ohio Food Bank at a fraction of the cost of local grocery stores. To give toward The Open Table, send your check to our Church office and indicate your desire for the money to be put toward The Open Table.  Make checks payable to: Grace Point Community Church, 2393 Peachblow Road, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.
  • Specific Food Donations: In general, any non-perishable food or personal care donation is great, though we do ask that all donations be new and in good condition.  Any donations can be dropped off at the church office Mon-Thurs from 9am to 4pm and Friday from 9am to 2pm.  Currently our most significant needs include the following items:

  • Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, femine hygene items, etc.
  • Peanut butter & Jelly
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Canned meats (not tuna)

  • Food Drives: You could organize a food drive at your place of employment or other organzation.  A template flyer can be found here.
  • Volunteer: We have a team of volunteers to help with The Open Table.  Click here if you'd like to help!
